These pots were produced with a system I designed for my ongoing research on 3D clay printing.

The goal was to create a simple and portable system for depositing clay or other paste-like materials. The extruder uses 3D-printed parts and standard hardware components that can be sourced easily. It can be controlled in two ways: directly with G-code, connected to the hardware of the printer, or independently with a custom PCB.

Connecting it directly to the printer is often desirable because it makes it possible to change the speed and feed rate or to do retraction moves. With the custom PCB, the system can be used where interfering with the hardware is not desirable or easy, for example when printing with an industrial robotic arm.

This research became the foundation of my studio, BinaryCeramics.
