Lost-wax casting, ceramic shell, flame patinas

A torso cast in bronze using the lost-wax process: a wax positive fitted with sprues and a pouring cup, dipped again and again into a ceramic shell, then filled with molten metal.

The cast was then finished over and over with flame and patina, ranging from ochre and rust to deep black and bright metal. Each version changes how the body reads, from weathered and archaeological to raw and industrial.
